dr. sc. Toshiki Hirano

Toshiki Hirano is a founding partner of the Toshiki Hirano Design and an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Kyoto University and the MA degree in Architecture from the Princeton University, where he also received the Suzanne Kolarik Underwood Prize. Prior to founding the fi rm, Hirano has worked for the Reiser + Umemoto RUR DPC. His projects have been published in various magazines such as the Architectural Digest, designboom, suckerPUNCH, and Bustler. He teaches planning and design at the University of Tokyo with Kengo Kuma. He also organizes an annual exhibition Japanese Junction, which displays student projects from universities around the world. He is a licensed architect in Japan and holder of a PhD.
