NEW ISSA PROJECT - GASTRO LINE

NEW ISSA PROJECT - GASTRO LINE

Each country has its own kitchen. Most often, they are mixtures of multiple influences, historical, climatic, ethnic and more. Searching for a country's eating habits yields very interesting results. It inspires an unknown dish to be made in another environment where it is unknown.

Being able to try Vis on an Icelandic dish, Maltese or Irish could increase the gastronomic offer for both residents and tourists. It does not require large funds and can be implemented in a number of ways. It can be done according to recipes, days can be arranged for these and those kitchens, original chefs can be called.

To begin with, we restricted ourselves to neighbors. There are two island states in the Mediterranean, Cyprus and Malta. There are only three in the rest of Europe, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Iceland. Can we imagine that on Vis, from the beginning of June until the end of September, we have weeks of these cuisines. Certainly it would be interesting and attractive.

As an example, we can choose from two dishes from each of these five island states:

Cyprus - souvlaki and moussaka.
Malta - Bragioles and Fencats
United Kingdom - English breakfast and fish with chips
Ireland - Colcannon and Boxty
Iceland - Beinlausir fuglar and Lifrapilsa

If the hosts did not remain neglected, they would offer:
Vis - Komiza cake and octopus salad

Good apetite !
